About Me

I am a Special Education student specializing in Hearing Impairment, with practical experience working with children with Autism through home-based educational sessions. My teaching approach focuses on understanding each child’s individual needs, abilities, interests, and learning pace. During my sessions, I work on developing attention, sitting tolerance, communication, social interaction, play skills, following instructions, and basic academic readiness. I use structured and engaging activities such as matching, sorting, puzzles, picture identification, object recognition, turn-taking games, imitation activities, and simple learning tasks. I gradually introduce activities according to the child’s comfort level and encourage participation through positive reinforcement. I also focus on improving fine-motor and pre-academic skills, including colouring, tracing, holding and using learning materials, and completing simple tasks independently. For children who find these activities difficult, I break the task into small and manageable steps and provide appropriate support. I understand that children with Autism may have different sensory, behavioural, communication, and learning needs. Therefore, I try to maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment. I observe the child’s responses during each session and modify activities according to their progress and requirements. My goal is not only to teach academic concepts but also to help the child become more independent, confident, communicative, and socially engaged in daily life. I believe that consistency, patience, positive reinforcement, and individualized teaching strategies are important for supporting children with Autism. Through my practical experience, I am developing my skills in session planning, activity selection, behaviour management, observation, and individualized teaching. I am continuously learning new strategies and improving my professional knowledge so that I can provide effective and meaningful support to children with Autism and their families.
