About Me

I am Aparajita Chatterjee. I have done my Bachelors in Sociology from Jadavpur University, I am highly motivated to pursue my doctoral studies in disability Studies. To be more competent and to contribute to social development, PhD in Disability Studies seems imperative which will equip me to contribute to society positively. My research interests include but are not limited to, variation in reproductive behavior with cross cultural focus, environmental issues, gender and sexualities issues; and, evolving structure and function of social institutions such family, economy, religion and politics also disability studies. I have also worked for GiftAbled, a social enterprise working for the people with disability. My long-term career goal is to teach at a university and become a social research scientist. After my Ph.D in Disability Studies, envision myself as an academic who inspires and motivates learners for objective understanding of social realities and who publishes about what she sees necessary for social development.
