About Me

Bio-sketch Dr. Akhilesh Shende is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, Government College Kurai, district Seoni, Madhya Pradesh. He pursued his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in physical chemistry. During his PhD program, he has published 3 research articles in International Journal. He has obtained his master's degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry from the School of Chemical Sciences, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, and bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) from Government Model Science College, Rani Durgawati University Jabalpur. He joined the department of chemistry, Institute for Excellence in Higher Education Bhopal as Honorary faculty. In 2019, he joined the Department of Higher Education Bhopal as an Assistant Professor. He teaches Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Analytical Chemistry at graduation and post-graduation levels. During his small tenure more than 30 students are selected in JAM, GATE and NET and pursuing their Masters and PhD from JNCASR, IITs, NITs, IISERs and other national institutes. He was awarded the best oral presentation at "Resinnovative - 1 National Conference on Emerging Trends and Innovations in Sciences" held at Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, January 2020. He was awarded the Best Poster Award at the "Theoretical Chemistry Symposium 2012" held at IIT Guwahati, December 2012. He qualified GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) in 2009. He also Qualified CSIR UGC NET in December 2008. He has been awarded a "Gold Medal" in Bachelor of Sciences in Microbiology in 2007. He is a member of the validation and technical team, E-content development, Department of Higher Education Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He is performing his duty as Coordinator, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, Government College Kurai. He was the instructor in charge of the institute-level MATLAB workshop entitled "MATLAB R An Introductory Workshop", held at IIT Kanpur in October 2013. He was a member of the editorial Board of NERD (Notes on Engineering Research and Development) IIT Kanpur for the session 2013-2014. He was a member of counseling services IIT Kanpur for the session 2012-2013. He has completed a faculty induction program (FIP), organized by UGC HRDC, Devi Ahilya University Indore. He has also completed a faculty development program (FDP), organized by the Teaching Learning Center, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi. He has completed a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP), organized by the Department of Higher Education Bhopal. He knows the basics of different chemistry software and tools like gaussian, Chem-Craft, Chem-draw, Molden, and knows FORTRAN, C, and C++ programming. He is also familiar with both kinds of operating systems Windows and Linux. He has worked with different text editors like MS Office, Open Office, Latex.
