I, Ms. P. Gayathri, was born on 3rd November 1996 in Aruppukottai, Tamil Nadu. I completed my schooling at Saliyar Mahajana Higher Secondary School, Aruppukottai, in 2014, after which I pursued higher studies in physics. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Physics from Devanga Arts and Science College in 2017, followed by my Master's degree in Physics from Bharathidasan University in 2019, both with First Class. After completing my post-graduation, I worked as a Project Research Fellow at the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, India, from 2019 to 2020. In 2020, I joined SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) as a Full-time Ph.D. Research Scholar in the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, under the guidance of Dr. Saurabh Ghosh, and became a part of the Functional Materials by Design Group. My research is supported by a DST-SERB (CRG) project (DST SERB/CRG/2018/001728). During my Ph.D., I was appointed as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) from 2020 to 2023, and I was later promoted to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in 2023. In my doctoral research at SRMIST, I focused on exploring the insights into ferroelectric switching mechanisms and the functional multiferroic properties of double perovskite materials using first-principles computations, atomistic simulations, and machine learning techniques. I collaborated with international research laboratories and experimental groups, including the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), United States; Uppsala University, Sweden; and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, which resulted in several publications in prestigious scientific journals. Along with my supervisor, I co-authored around six research papers in reputed journals such as *Chemistry of Materials*, *J. Phys. Mater*, *ACS Applied Electronic Materials*, and *Physical Review B*, with an average impact factor of 8 (up to March 2025). During my doctoral research, I visited Sweden for a month to collaborate with Prof. Biplab Sanyal, Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor at Uppsala University, Sweden. I have received several accolades for my research contributions, including: (i) the Best Poster Presentation Award at the National Physicist Conclave (NPC-2024), conducted by the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRMIST, held from 7th–9th February 2024; (ii) the Best Student Poster Award at the Dr. Paarivendar Research Colloquium, held from 3rd–5th March 2023, conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur; (iii) the Silver Medal for Best Paper Presentation at Research Day, held on 28th February 2023, conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur; and (iv) the Contributed Oral Presentation Award at the Workshop and International Conference on Electronic Structure Theory of Emergent Spin-Orbit Driven Phenomena (ESTESODP-2024), IIT Bombay.
