English, is no longer the exclusive cultural property of the native English speakers but a language of international discourse. Therefore, a working knowledge of English is very important.Effective communication is, the best way to learn a language and key to success for both the teacher and the student.

1.I would like to initiate discussions on a specific prose/poem and seek the students' participation to arouse their interest, so that they can enjoy the subject, learn, and deliver.

2.Grammar is the spine of a language. Students will be made to solve exercises on different topics and will be evaluated. Frequent grammar tests will be conducted to test how much they have learnt.

3.Students must read a newspaper everyday and pen down the meanings of all the new words they come across while reading. This is to enhance their vocabulary.

4.Every student will be asked to participate in an 'extempo' on a given topic. It is the best way to enhance their spoken English skills. It will also render them confident to speak in public forums.

5.Cross reference from related texts will be drawn and movies available for a particular text will also be shown for better understanding.

6.In my experience of tutoring students, I have found out that most students are reluctant to prepare long answers for their literature papers, and they tend to display their flair for writing in the examination hall. That is a wrong thing to do. Students will be helped to prepare a backbone of every answer much before the examinations. That will improve their reflex, speed of writing and students will have plenty of time to revise their answers.

Last but not the least, the students are a bunch of fresh learners, eager to learn. It is important for the tutor to develop a conducive atmosphere for optimum learning, where the students can give way to the dubious task of "STUDY "!!!
