About Me

I am Pratap from Hyderabad, India. I am a retired IT specialist with about 4 decades of experience in the IT industry. I have retired from IT and am indulging in my passion which happens to be teaching mathematic concepts to middle school, high school and pre-university students from all over the world. I believe in teaching the basic ideas behind all mathematical concepts. I teach the child to appreciate the beautiful order behind mathematical concepts. Problem solving becomes quite easy once the concept is understood in its entirety. I also teach a new method of looking at the four mathematical operations namely addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers called ‘Vedic Mathematics’. It is a very refreshing and intuitive way of looking at numbers. You can watch a video I have made on two-digit multiplication using the Vedic methods. I have students from India, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Hongkong and the Middle East. I also conduct webinars for students in the 9th and 10th grades in India every day. I have a digital class set up in my residence. I use whiteboards and collaborative tools like Bitpaper.io, Skype and Zoom for conducting my classes and webinars. I have proficiency in teaching the following subjects in mathematics: Number System, Algebra (1 and 2), Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-calculus and Calculus. I have been teaching students who are appearing for the following boards: NCERT, Various ISD (Independent School Districts) of USA, KS of UK, A Levels, O levels, NSW curriculum, ICGSE, IB etc. I believe all the boards broadly follow the same curriculum albeit in different orders and complexity. The basic concepts are the same everywhere and math has not changed in the past so many years. I try to get the students geared up to competitive exams like PSAT, SAT, AIEEE, NEET etc. I introduce the students to the type of questions asked in these competitive examinations right when I am teaching the concepts. For an acceptable online coaching experience, the student needs to have these resources in place: Good internet connection, A laptop or desktop or appropriate device to view and participate in the online class, a Skype id (Optional), an Email id and a digital writing pad with stylus (Optional). I can arrange for a demo class if required and will not charge for it. If required I can also arrange for references for my students.
