My name is Vishal Satpute and I’m a mechanical engineer with over 3 years of experience in oil and Gas Industry. I have lived my whole life in Thane. My mother is a housemaid and father is retired now. My elder brother is working as an electronics engineer in Bangalore currently and my Younger sister is pursuing higher studies and she is also a mechanical engineer. I grew up in a middle class family and faced poverty in childhood but situation improved as I became older. Right from childhood I had mindset of a scholarly person and I was always exceling in academics because I was very punctual in studies and learning. I scored very high percentage in 10th standard so I could take up Science Stream in 12th As I was very good in solving math problems, logically understanding science concepts, etc so I decided to take up Science stream in college. I got an above average percentage in HSC exam, but I got almost full marks in math and a high score in Entrance test for Engineering field. I choose to only apply for Mechanical Engineering and got admission in Don Bosco Institute of Technology which is a reputed college in Mumbai University. I made a lot of friends not just from my field but from other classes. Four years of Engineering just passed with a blink of an eye which gave me better understanding of outside world and responsibilities that I should be having not just of Society but of relations around. I was good in sports during college and used to come earlier than college timings or wait after college to play volleyball, cricket, indoor games like Table Tennis(TT), have chit chat with friends, all of my assignment submission was on time and hardly I was absent any day in college, etc. I had never gotten into any Bad Habits like smoking, drinking alcohol, watching movies late nights, skipping classes, etc. Every semester I used to study in the same way completing assigments, unit tests, studying very hard for Final semester exams whole day and night. My performance in every semester was consistent and constant. I passed out with above average Gpa in Final year. Basically, my academics were really strong and impressive throughout engineering college. That means I was not interested in watching television, going to the cinema every friday or partying till late nights. Even a relationship wasn’t something I looked for. During fourth year I sat for many interviews but never got selected to any company and found that my communication skills were poor. After final semester within a month I got placed in NPCC Eng Pvt Ltd (NEL) which is an Oil & Gas Company and worked there for over 3 years as a Rotating Equipment Design Engineer. Initially, I got a huge exposure of Oil and Gas Industry and learnt a lot of practical things which were very necessary in that industry. So basically my Job was to select and procure various types of Water & Chemical Pumps which maybe gas driven or electric motor driven, Compressors, Turbines, various types of Material handling equipments like Deck cranes, Tank design and safety equipments (like fire extinguisher, life saving boat, Dry Chemical Powder skid, etc) which are used on Production and process platform in Offshore marine environment. During the career period I learnt a lot of skills like, Ms office, public speaking, problem solving, Always I had this in my mind that it is not a core technical job but something that I have to do in order to earn high income. It was during Covid that we faced Job loss and had to quit company in October. My strengths are : Good Communication skills, leadership, time management and my hobbies are Yoga, Meditation, Travel, Art. Currently I’m involved with volunteering activities in Isha Foundation and Art of Living.
